Bsnargleplexis. • 10 yr. ago. Here is the ELI5 of String Theory. We have two sets of rules in our Universe right now. Quantum Mechanics, which are the rules of the REALLY small things, like things the size of atoms, or smaller. And General Relativity, which are the rules for REALLY big things, like us, and stars, that are affected by Gravity.
Standard Model. Quarks and electrons interact via strong and electroweak forces to form hadrons, nuclei, atoms, molecules, chocolate, espresso, etc. Forces are “gauge forces”, i.e. the form of the force is determined by an invariance principle. Combined with ordinary gravity, describes the world we see – since ∼ 1973.
The Big Bang: What Banged (and Inflated)? Currently, physics and cosmology tell us that the universe as we know it started about 14 billion or so years ago, in a singularity at which the laws of physics break down. This breaks the question of the universe’s origin into two parts: What were the initial conditions that triggered the big bang?
A scientific theory is an explanation of an aspect of the natural world and universe that can be (or a fortiori, that has been) repeatedly tested and corroborated in accordance with the scientific method, using accepted protocols of observation, measurement, and evaluation of results. Where possible, some theories are tested under controlled
Mar 26, 2016 · The theory that the universe started from a single point (or very small area) is known as the big bang theory. The theory was first proposed in 1927 by Belgian priest and physicist, Georges Lemaître, but was controversial until 1965. Today, the most advanced astronomical observations show that the big bang theory is likely true.
Oct 7, 2019 · String theory defines pre big bang at Planck scale whose energy is of the order of 1028 eV, length dimension is 10-35 m, mass is of the order of 10-8 kg, time scale is of the order of 10-44 s
Mar 8, 2011 · Another possible test for string theory will be analyzing the detailed observations of the light left over from the Big Bang, called the cosmic microwave background radiation, which permeates space.
Dec 23, 2011 · According to Big Bang cosmology, the universe originated in an explosion from an invisibly tiny point. This theory is strongly supported by observation of the cosmic microwave background and the
Jan 13, 2012 · To tackle the extreme energies of the Big Bang, Nishimura and his team had to recast one version of string theory, called IIB, as grids of equations that could be fed into a supercomputer.
